I'm working again! The blog updates might be a little fewer and farther between for just a little while until we all adjust to our new schedules! Work is going great for both me and Darrin.
So far we really like our students and parents and colleagues. I have 85 students in my band at Huffines Middle School. And that's just the 2nd band. There are 72 kids in the top band (all 7th and 8th graders) and there are around 150 beginners. So.....this is the largest band program I've ever worked with and I'm struggling trying to learn all of their names!! But, my band sounds good....still have a lot of work to do, but I think it's going to be a great year! I was telling Richard, the head director that I teach with, that I'm going to have to be on my "A Game" because of the size of my 2nd band. Shhheeeesssh. Nothing like 85 kids packed into a tiny band hall to challenge your classroom management abilities!
Anyway, here are a few pics of late! We went to visit the Halls this past weekend for Kylie's first birthday and it was great to get away for a night and visit friends!
