"I love thee to the depth and breadth and height, my soul can reach, when feeling out of sight, for the ends of being and ideal grace...I love thee with the breath, smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death."

Germanfest

We met the Halls in Muenster, TX on Saturday for Germanfest.
Had a great time with great friends!
Hudson really enjoyed hanging out and flirting with Kylie and Addison.
I will say that the festival experience is much different now for us than when we didn't have a child. When Amanda and I were talking and trying to figure out a time frame, it was like, "Well, Hudson usually naps around 9:30 and then again around 2:00.....so we'll be there from around 11 - 2. Does that work with your kids' nap times?" My, how times change!
Wouldn't trade it for the world, but pretty much everything right now revolves around nap time.
Speaking of, better get some housework done while he's down!

Train Ride

My parents came down for a few days this past week. It was soooo good to see them and of course, it was nice to have some help and free babysitting while I managed to earn a little extra income doing Harwood's Instrument Drive. I have to admit that Hudson and I both had a "grandparent hangover" on Thursday. (Thanks for the term, MaryAnn! It is so fitting!)

Hudson loves both of them very much but he is very attached to Grandpa! He followed him around all week and he even fell asleep on him during our train ride. (We took the train from Grapevine to the stockyards on Sunday - very cool!) This is saying a lot for a child that normally will only sleep in his crib - nowhere else.

Hudson's 11 months old today!

Life just keeps getting better (and busier!)....
Hudson is 11 months old today.
He's crawling. Very. Fast.
He is pulling up and will sometimes walk that way (while holding onto the ottoman, etc), but he's not interested in walking otherwise.
He is now pointing at things that he wants. Regularly.
Morgan's water bowl continues to be his favorite "toy"....much to my dismay.
He loves bathtime, as always.
He LOVES his new swing in the backyard.
He also loves toilets and is fascinated by anything that goes on in and around toilets.
Again, much to my dismay.
He loves big people food. Is beginning to refuse "baby food".
Babbles a lot and is starting to act like he knows what he's saying.
He's also getting more hair! Yay!

Next month, we'll have a one-year-old on our hands!
I can't believe how fast this year has flown by....we just love him more than words can say.
He's brought so much joy to our lives. We're just so lucky to have him.

Good times

We had a wonderful Easter weekend....mostly getting things done around the house.
Darrin mowed, I planted flowers and added some mulch to our back landscaping, cleaned, etc.....feels good to have a clean house and pretty yard again!
Darrin even hung a baby swing on one of our trees in the back! Hudson loves it! We go out there about three times a day.

Darrin just got back last night from his band trip (he'd been gone since Wednesday). It's so good to have him home! I sometimes have realizations about how lucky I am to have such a wonderful husband and beautiful son and a house that I (for the most part) love :)
I try to always "know" how blessed I am, but those moments of realization are great reminders about how good we have it. He got home, finished Hudson's bath, got his jammies on him and read him a bedtime story while I finished cooking, listening through our open windows to the birds chirping (and the airplanes, but hey, we're focusing on the positive right now!).
Finished the evening talking with my amazing husband on our patio with a glass of wine in hand. Life is so good. Now hopefully one of these days we can live a little farther away from DFW so that we can actually see the stars.....but that's another post. For now, couldn't be happier.

Botanical Gardens #2

The weather has been awesome! We went to the botanical gardens again today.
I think everyone else had the same idea! There were a bunch of pretty little girls getting Easter Pictures taken....Hudson was flirting.
Here are some pictures from today....one was taken at our house, but I included it.
He's starting to look like such a grown up little boy!
